This publication is about ideas - ideas that lead to changes to improve the education system. Primer was launched eight years ago by the New Ohio Institute, a public-policy think tank, to bring unconventional and thoughtful ideas to the ongoing public discussion about how we guide our future. Both the Institute and Primer made their contributions and then moved on, and Primer ceased publication nearly four years ago. However, KnowledgeWorks Foundation saw value in what Primer offered to the public discourse and brings it back now to help once again inject thoughtful insights into education issues. And so we begin again.
This publication has been named a winner of the 2008 Silver Award for Excellence in Communications from the Council on Foundations.
