Education beyond high school is not only possible, it’s necessary. To ensure that all Ohioans have equal opportunities, and aren’t struggling to support their families, Ohio needs to make policy changes that will enable high school graduates and working adults to get through college with funding and aid. The Foundation supports policies and recommendations that promote access to postsecondary education and training for all Ohioans, enabling them to better support themselves and their families.

Achieving the Dream is a national initiative which seeks to increase the success of all community college students, particularly those facing the greatest obstacles to college success. In partnership with Achieving the Dream, KnowledgeWorks Foundation is introducing several of Ohio's community colleges to the initiative which includes research into effective practices and public policy work to make lasting changes to the community college system.

The Ohio College Access Network is the first statewide network of community-based college access programs founded in 1999 by KnowledgeWorks Foundation in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Board of Regents. OCAN develops and supports community-based college access programs that provide student services including college admission advising, financial aid advising, scholarships, and tutoring.
